"A reminder that Society is always watching what we do" - Hon Yoyo Emmanuel
Honourable Yoyo Emmanuel, erstwhile MP of the SDF has opined that the Cameroon Performance Awards initiative is a reminder of the fact that the eyes of society are always focused on us in everything that we do. He was speaking recently at Jua Hotel in Bamenda during the reception of the Cameroon Performance Awards CPA 2020.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, if we were all conscious of the silent evaluation by the society then we would make sure we behaved in a way that was much more beneficial to society. I am sure we would behave better and try to be more useful to our people and mankind as a whole."
Hon Yoyo Emmanuel also said that through the years, he had observed all human endeavors and arrived at the conclusion that wealth irrespective of how it was acquired should always also be used to put a smile on the faces of other less fortunate people in society. When this is not done, then wealth becomes valueless. He said this has constantly pushed him through the years to work with communities realising projects at the grassroot level which constitutes one of the factors that caught the attention of the Organising Committee of Cameroon Performance Awards CPA 2020.
True nation builders he said must be those whose endeavours are people focused. Such people constitute the true nation builders and you see the effect of their hard work and Performance at the level of the impact that they have on the life of people at the grassroot.
He further said since these ideas were embedded in the values that propelled the Cameroon Performance Award Initiative, he was sure CPA would go a long way to rewrite the narrative of Nation Building.
The Chairperson of the Organising Committee of CPA Francis Ekongang Nzante on his part said Hon Yoyo Emmanuel's life had been one of continuous hardwork characterised by discipline which resulted in the series of successes that have characterised his life. Tracing the Laureate's life from when he worked with the National Police Force and rose within the ranks to become a Police Superintendent (locally referred to as Police Commissioner) the Chairman said his formula to success had always been hardwork and Performance which inevitably led to success.
Mr Ekongang also visited the passage of Hon Yoyo Emmanuel in Parliament pointing at the effect he had on the way debates were carried out in the Lower House with his upfront approach to issues of common interest.
At the moment, Honourable Yoyo Emmanuel is considered as one of the leading development stakeholders in the North West Region of Cameroon, reason for which he was one of those consulted during the Awareness and Sensitisation Campaign on the Presidential Plan for the Construction of the North West and South West Regions. And as would be expected, he was of the opinion that peace was a prerequisite for reconstruction to take place in the two English Speaking Regions of Cameroon.
Also present during the Award Event ceremony were Senator Barrister Kemende, Mr Jua Paulinus, a battery of journalists as well as friends and relations who turned out for the occasion.
