According to Francis Ekongang Nzante, Chair Person and National Coordinator of the Cameroon Performance Awards, the young Barrister Divine Ndeh Momuluh bagged the Cameroon Performance Awards CPA 2020 because of the efforts he had put in to bring the activities of Cooperative Credit Unionism back on track and to reorganize the Sector in the wake of the sprouting of countless institutions in the Sector especially in the Northwest and Southwest Regions of the country.
Within the framework of the Cameroon Government's Economic Vision, Micro Savings Institutions and Cooperative Credit Unions were created with an aim of encouraging Small and Medium Scale Initiatives through the provision of loans at rates lower than those in other more conventional Financial Institutions.
Recently however, there has been this gradual drift away from the real purpose for which these institutions were created. The initial orientation was the essence of Collective Effort but there recently occurred the frightful tendency to shift away from this position to that of a more self centered Personal Profit Making orientation.
The Organising Committee of the CPA through the words of Mr Francis Ekongang Nzante it's Chair Person and National Coordinator took note of Barrister Divine Ndeh Momuluh in his multiple media outings in which he drew attention to this phenomena.
Divine Ndeh Momuluh is a Board Member of the Azire Cooperative Credit Union AZICCUL. He is also an elder of the Presbyterian Church PC Ntsualam in Mankon, Bamenda. He is a Lawyer with the Cameroon Bar Council and a member of the Northwest Lawyers Association NOWELA.
He played an active role in the break away of AZICCUL from the Cameroon Cooperative Credit Union League CAMCCUL. Just back from the United States where he pursued studies in other domains, he threw his legal knowledge behind AZICCUL and protected it's interests during this break away period from CAMCCUL.
The content of his media outings identified him as an advocate for reforms within the Cooperative Credit Union Sector in Cameroon. He has constantly reiterated that Loans should always be directed to small and medium scaled initiatives. This he says will impact positively on the health of grassroot initiatives.
This interest in the quality of lives at the grassroot certainly stems from the fact that his Academic trajectory is not unconnected to Community Development. This was equally seen when recently during the election of elders at PC Ntsualam, a congregation of over 1000, Divine Ndeh Momuluh was elected alongside others to serve.
Considering his age, organizers belief he will serve as a true role model to young Cameroonians who truly need one at a time when the life of the country is at crossroads.
