OFM International Bamenda extends a helping hand to orphans and needy.

Omega Fire Ministries International Bamenda, Cameroon under the guidance of Pastor Doctor Kinga Sunday King has extended a helping hand to some orphans and needy in the city of Bamenda. This visitation of the poor and underprivileged took place on Saturday November 17.
Pastor Doctor Kinga Sunday King

Harping on the giving exercise by the Church he quoted the popular Bible verse “for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that who so ever believeth in him should not perish but have ever lasting life.” He explained that the primary essence of the Church was to show the love of God and that this love must be extended to the less privileged. “That’s why we go out there and visit people and orphanages and offer gifts. The love of God was extended to us through giving and ours must be extended to others through giving.” Giving he said is a sign of love and that was seen in the Almighty sacrificing His only son. The only thing man can give in return is to show love for one another.”
Harping on the role of the Church at this time when Cameroon was going through sociopolitical crises, the Arch Priest of OFM International Bamenda and Coordinator for West Africa II said the role of the church was simply to stand out as the light. “You are the light of the world and a city that is placed on the top of the hill cannot be hidden. The church is the light of the nation and without light there will be darkness. If the prayers had not been going on we would have had a more deadly situation in the country. We have been praying, fasting and waiting on the Lord since the crises began. As a Church in Cameroon, we have been praying for the nation and our prayer is for peace.”
Muma George, Chairman of Projects at the Arch Parish in Bamenda said it was the tradition of the OFM Family to reach out to needy orphans and that this takes place every year. He said it was an initiative of the Arch Priest of Bamenda and Coordinator of West Africa II. Alluding to the Bible  he said love surpassed everything describing the gesture of reaching out to orphans which took place on Saturday November 18 as an act of love and fellowship. “It is the nature and purpose of the Ministry especially from the Head Quarters in Nigeria to annually win two million souls to Christ. So what we were doing yesterday was to win more souls to Christ for it is our mission. You can’t talk about God without talking about love and orphans are part of us and like us they are made in the image of God.” Muma explained that the beneficiaries were made up of orphans, abandoned children and widows. “We are going to be more consistent in our visitations from now on” Muma George further explained.
Muma George further said this was the end of the year and that OFM had another event to reach out to the needy in the pipeline. It was the only way he said to show gratitude “for what God had done for us this year. We have to reach out to the needy in another event at the end of the year.”
Elder Muma George and Sister Maimo Rose

Maimo Rose, one of the Executive Committee Members of the Women’s wing on her part said one of the missions of this commission was restoration and that life could be restored by touching the lives of the needy adding that it was one of the reason that pushed them to “go out in winning nations, go out to the orphans who are found among the needy. We went there to encourage them and to show love and this is better shown when you meet with those who think that they are less privileged. You must not have much to share with others. No matter how small it is, it can always be shared.”
