Speaking on this occasion, Vincent Nji Ndumu said these
equipment were a result of the twin city collaboration between the Bamenda
City Council and the city of Dordrecht in the Netherlands. The relationship
between the two cities he said has lasted for more than two years and was
initiated by the erstwhile Government Delegate to the Bamenda City Council
Albert Nde. He said “this is our own referral hospital not only within the
North West Region but beyond.

It is an opportunity for me to call on all
stakeholders to have this hospital at heart.” The Government further thanked
the Director of the hospital Dr. Kinge Njie Thompson for the hard work as well
as the Minister of Public Health and the President of the Republic for always heeding
to their call for help. Meantime, the Secretary General at the City Council
said more of such help was going to come in as the need list of the hospital is
updated.

The Inspector General at the NW Governor’s office, Makoge Ivo
said “we are all witnessing the kind gesture of the Government Delegate to the
Bamenda City Council and through him our foreign partners. This gesture is
welcome since our government cannot supply everything at the same time. This
will push the name of our hospital to be heard everywhere and beyond the North
West Region. We thank the Government Delegate for following up this cooperation
link.”
The main beneficiary of the day, Dr. Kinge Thompson Njie,
Director of the Regional Hospital said many people have been giving testimonies
to the achievements made by the Regional Hospital in Bamenda. Such testimonies
he said were as a result of such collective effort. He told everyone present to
begin by clapping for the Government Delegate and thanking him for the quick
approval of projects. This he said went beyond just a simple request for
material and equipment adding that the Government Delegate had “given just what
we needed to bring satisfaction to the people we serve. We will put it to use
in the same spirit of love, empathy and support.”
The ceremony was attended by the medical staff of the
Regional hospital that turned out in their numbers to see what the Chairman of
the Management Board had provided for their hospital.
