CPDM SG says Permanent Delegations will not usurp powers of Section Presidents.

Jean Kwete, the Secretary General of the ruling Cameroon Peoples Democratic Movement has said that the present installation of the permanent delegations of the party in the various Regions and Divisions of the country will neither replace the Section Presidents nor reduce the flexibility of the party. The Section Presidents he said remained the local bosses of the party. Just like in the other Regional Head Quarters, he repeated a similar message at the Bamenda CPDM Congress Hall during the installation of the party’s permanent delegation in the Northwest Region recently.

The Prime Minister and Head of Government Philemon Yang was installed as the Regional Head of the body that will coordinate the activities of the CPDM in the various Divisions of the North West Region. He will be directly assisted by His Royal Highness Chief Aneng Francis, Madame Mundi Regina and Business magnate Baba Danpulo. The Head of Missions (Charge Des Missions) for the ruling party in the North West Region are Nwana Sama and Chief Okia Johnson from the South West Region.

Party Scribe Jean Kwete thanked those who were responsible for the Renewal Commission and called on everyone to devote themselves to party work and to forget past divisions. Elites he said should be examples of active solidarity.

Jean Kwete further said travelling to Bamenda for him is always like a pilgrimage to the land of the birth of the party and thus a rebirth of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement. Referring to Bamenda as a “historic city in our collective memory” he cited historical names from the Region that had contributed greatly in the building of the nation that we today enjoy and in this manner paid homage to the likes of HRH Fon Angafor of Mankon, Bamenda, wishing him long life and prosperity. He then promised to report to the President on the wonderful welcome that was accorded him and his entourage in Bamenda.

One of the goals of the reorganization of the basic organs of the party he said was to sustainably lengthen the stay of the party and to better take care of the needs of the people. The reorganization exercise he said was a success registering a historic participation. One of the most appreciable things that were handled during the reorganisation process was the proper handling of the electoral disputes.
Meantime, the Section President for Mezam I, Cletus Anye Matoya in his welcome address described the Prime Minister as a square peg in a square hole. He equally called on President Paul Biya to launch campaigns as well as round them up in Bamenda so as to rejuvenate party activities in the North West Region of Cameroon.
Another major highlight of the occasion was the appointment of the Divisional Delegations of the CPDM in the various Divisions of the North West Region with almost no surprises being registered. The next major task of the newly installed North West Delegation will therefore be the installation of the divisional Delegations in the region by the Prime Minister and his team of competent assistants.
