Other areas with
impressive revenue collections as revealed during the session include Bambui which
came in second position with 15 million FCFA of revenue collected.
The Lord Mayor of the
Tubah Council Tanjong Martin Meshongong drew attention to the fact that Tubah was
transforming from a community of villages to a township and that there was the
need to change the way the cleaning of the town was handled. As a result,
Operation two containers of refuse in each house hold was launched with an
intention of using refuse in a recycled and more profitable manner. In the same
vein groups of hygiene officers will be created to enhance this exercise. This
will entail the creation of a Sanitation Committee and a subsequent appointment
of sanitary controllers at the village level.
The Lord Mayor equally
seized the opportunity to thank development partners especially P.N.D.P. for
accompanying them in the past three years in development initiatives.
