Mother
of Hope Cameroon known by the acronym MOHCAM on Friday January 4, 2019,
organized her very first workshop for the New Year. This Workshop was the
second edition of the Inclusive Girls Empowerment Leadership and Skilled
Workshop. It took place at the Mansfield Plaza Hotel, Bamenda in the North West
Region.
This
program was aimed at empowering young girls ranging from the ages of 12- 24. It
was further motivated by the numerous challenges young girls have been facing
in the crises presently plaguing the Northwest and Southwest Regions of
Cameroon.
Highlights
of the workshop included sensitization of the girls on Personal Body Hygiene, Puberty
and Menstruation and the Qualities of a Good Leader.
As
Girl Change leaders, most of these presentations were done by their peers in a
bid to instill a sense of leadership and responsibility in them. According to some
of the workshop participants, the program was interesting since the girls had
time to catch some fun while getting very insightful information and
knowledge.
This
was all in a bid to motivate and encourage these young girls to stay focused on
their dreams and ambitions and to drill them on how to handle the challenges
they are facing which are particular to their age group.
Adah
Mbah Muyang, the head of this organisation seized the opportunity to thank the
MOHCAM team, its volunteers and all those who have been supporting them in
their activities and initiatives.
