The Vice Chancellor explained that the name
Reunification was given to remind the students that the campus was created just
after the 50th anniversary of the Reunification of Cameroon. The Head
of State she believes was very pleased with the turn of events during the celebration
of the 50th Anniversary of the Reunification of Cameroon and decided
to create the institution. For the Peace Batch, the Vice Chancellor explained
that it was given because of the state of violence and insecurity in the country
with an intention of letting the students see the importance and value of
peace.
With the conduct of the institution which now
is made up of some 1400 students, the Vice Chancellor said things had gone on marvelously
for the students so far. Attracted by their closeness to culture as reflected
in the way they danced, she commented that the teachers who would eventually
graduate from HTTTC Kumba would be deeply seated in culture adding that this
was very gratifying as there would always be cultural content in everything
that they would eventually teach.
The Vice Chancellor seized the occasion to
thank the Minister of Higher Education for admitting all the students on the
Waiting List and called on the students to exercise patience as they await
infrastructural adjustments to take in the increased number. She further went
ahead to highlight the importance of mutual respect and tolerance at the level
of Religion, culture among other things.

peace, he said scientific studies have helped in the resolving of disputes
through Socio economic development. When there is an increased input through
