President Paul Biya reshuffles Government

-         Touches security, the economy among others.

President Paul Biya
President Paul Biya of Cameroon has redesigned the Government of Prime Minister and Head of Government, Philemon Yang. This move took place on Friday, October 2, 2015. Several personalities have made their way into the new government. Minette Libom Likeng for example has left the top post of Customs for the Ministry of Post and Tele-communication.
The Ambassador of Cameroon to Paris Mbella Mbella Lejeune was appointed Minister of External relations. Narcisse Kombi MOUELLE who until now served as advisor at The Presidency of The Republic replaces Ama Tutu Muna as the Minister of Culture. Louis Paul Motaze becomes Minister of Economy while Joseph Mbeti Assomo, former Governor of the Littoral Region inherits the Ministry of Defense.

Meantime, the post of Minister Delegate at the Presidency of the Republic in charge of State Control goes to Madame Rose Nfor Atcha.
Louis Bapes Bapes , Lazare Essimi Menye Menye , Biyiti Bi Essam Jean Pierre , Catherine Bakang Mbock, Ama Tutu Muna and others have left the boat.
The Star Building, the seat of the PM

This move had been expected after the Legislative and Municipal Elections of September 30, 2013. President Paul Biya finally decided to redesign it on Friday October 2 maintaining Philemon Yang as the Head of Government.
The main change concerns the Ministry of Defense that records the arrival of Joseph Beti Assomo. This move is considered very appropriate considering the fact that this former governor of the Littoral Region was previously Governor of the sensitive Far North Region which is today prey to repeated attacks of the Boko Haram insurgents. The incumbent, Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo'o thus pays the price for his poor handling of the recent incident by soldiers in the streets of Yaounde on September 9. This had to do with some 200 Cameroonian soldiers returning from a peacekeeping mission in Central African Republic?

The economic and diplomacy sectors
Ambassador of Cameroon to France, the diplomat Lejeune Mbella Mbella takes over the post of the Ministry of External Relations where we note the departure of Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo government. Jailed and then released after 24 hours in March 2014 as part of the anti corruption drive Operation Sparrow Hawk,Louis Bapes Bapes who sat at the Head of the Ministry of Secondary Education also leaves the ship in favor of  Jean Ernest Ngalle Bibehe.
The restructuring also touches the economic sector. Alamine Ousmane Mey retains the Ministry of Finance while Louis Paul Motaze returns to the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Planning. He is replaced in the General Secretariat of the Prime Minister’s Office by Seraphin Magloire Fouda who until now served as Deputy Secretary General at the presidency. This economist is now responsible for overseeing the strategic projects of the country.
